Hi Guys - I have done about as much as I can before my week of 'are we there yet?' as I take in the sights and sounds of Kent. The website is fundamentally up and running with as much of the event history as I have managed to locate so far, plus the start of the general event info for everyone - feel free to take a look at it, have a dig, and email me with any thoughts, ideas, or missing bits :-) that you would like included in it. In your ideas please bear in mind that the website's function is to support the forum threads and NOT to replace them - if there is something you have had to dig around for to find out, regarding the event please just let me know, and we can get it onto the website for anyone else to be able to find. I am sure I am missing one of the events in the links page that I can't currently find, but this is the issue with history on forum threads that I am trying to tackle with the website. So.. we now have our forum threads, which are the heart of our event, twitter and instagram feeds to advertise our event, a facebook page which follows the forum threads and feeds regarding our event, and now a website to fill in all the background, and answer general questions people may have about our event.. I would love to say my work is done but it isn't :-( After my week off I need to finish getting the website as complete as I can (incorporating any and all suggestions you guys have), then move back onto event promotion and another round of checking in with sponsors, and potential sponsors to see what we can manage - so please keep an eye on this space and in the meanwhile email me any thoughts or ideas to incorporate into our new event website. My email (which I suspect you all know by now :-) ) is [email protected], and the event website is accessible from www.solidlinux.co.uk

Ok guys, The past couple of months have been busy, stressful, and have dragged me away from everything to do with our event Two water leaks (one of which was huge) on the S-Type now repaired, family holiday acheived despite my S-Types reluctance to participate, my workplace adding additional responsibilities, the C1 through it's MOT, some unexpected health issues, and my home now partially re-decorated - all in just the last couple of months. With all that done, and the children now back at school I am back on the case, and feeling somewhat less stressed about things, thankfully Over the next week or two I will be getting our events' Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook profiles more active and prominent, and then start reworking our new event website.. then around the beginning of October follow up with sponsors who have yet to confirm they wish to remain with us for 2019, and make contact with companies who would make a good fit with our event as sponsors to see if I can interest them in supporting us for our largest event to-date. Please keep an eye on our forum threads, and social media feeds for the latest as I go - and please, if you have attended a previous event, and enjoyed your day out, let any other Jaguar owners know, and encourage them to sign up for our 2019 event - it would be great if we can make our event the largest free Jaguar event in the south-east Don't forget all the news, info, and pics from our previous events (right back to the first one!) can all be accessed from our new event website at www.solidlinux.co.uk

Ok, we have eight months until our next Jaguar event, and it's time for a quick update on where we are with things, how things are progressing and what we are hoping to achieve in 2019. Currently we are doing well with the following stats already for our 2019 event: Our Twitter feed has 555 followers Our Facebook Page has 258 friends Our Instagram feed has 112 followers Our 2019 event forum threads have received over 2800 hits 11 Jaguars spanning 1995-2013 are already signed up with 22 attendees We have nine sponsors confirmed so far We have two awards confirmed Two sponsors are already offering incredible discounts to attendees right through from now to our next event I have restarted the Twitter, & Instagram feeds for our event, the Facebook page is now getting regular updates again, and I am currently raising our profile with our existing confirmed event sponsors prior to making contact with our unconfirmed existing sponsors. Our venue is confirmed and booked, and I am hoping we can manage around 200 Jaguars for the day spanning at least the usual 60 years or so of production. If we can encourage some of the older classic or unusual Jaguars to attend this year it would be fantastic. We do now have an event website - it is very much a work in progress, and needs some design TLC however it is a great resource for everyone, giving you access to all the images from our first ever event through to the very latest, with news, info, reviews, articles and more - if anyone has some time to spare and is good with websites please get in touch - I would love to hear from you :-) You can sign up via our forum threads, Facebook page, Twitter msg, or by emailing and there is even a contact form on the event website - our event is free to sign up for, puts you under no obligation and offers you a full one day Jaguar event with awards, talks, prizes, trade stands, full dealership support, incredible cars & company, and all at a beautiful venue - and its FREE so go on, why not sign up? Useful links for you include: The event Twitter feed @jfbrightonmeets #MayJagMeet, Facebook page at www.facebook.com/JaguarForumsUK, Website at JaguarForumsUK | Home, email at [email protected], & finally Instagram @jaguarforumsuk

Considering signing your Jaguar up for our next free one day event? It really is a great Jaguar day out, and is truly free with the exception of food/drink and the prize draw making it perfect for families through to petrolheads. Here's what some people have had to say about our event: 1drv.ms/b/s!Ao-7HJVAHqvXm0tmcSGbdDGj6Neh 1drv.ms/b/s!Ao-7HJVAHqvXm0tmcSGbdDGj6Neh classiccarcuration.co.uk/seve...et-event-2018/

Just to let you know that the event website, with links to the threads on here, event photos, information, FAQs etc has now been fleshed out somewhat and is well worth a visit. Please note that our Forum threads, Facebook page, Twitter feed etc will always have the very latest dynamic info. but for static information our new event website is the place to go :-) The event website is not all signing and dancing but is hosted free making it ideal for our event :-) It shares the same domain name as the event email and is at www.solidlinux.co.uk

Great News Steve , as I have said before on another Forum , its Members like yourself that work away tirelessly , unpaid and in your own free time that do so much to keep the Jaguar Brand in the Public Eye as well as providing a much welcome Social Occasion for Jaguar Owners in general . All the best to both you and Julian Ferraro as well as the rest of the Sponsors you have secured , they provide added input which we all appreciate .

Many thanks for your comments guys - I do really appreciate them - our event pretty much has a life of it's own now lol, and is the culmination of not just my work organising, but everyone that attends, supports, and sponsors our event - without everyone that gets involved, it just couldn't happen, and I am very grateful for everyones involvement over the years to-date.
I am happy to say that I have some more good news for you guys - I have just heard back from Simply Performance and they are very happy to continue their association with our event, and will also be there on the day to meet you :-) Many, many thanks to them for their continued support.
I am also currently waiting to hear back from a further number of companies I have been in touch with, and will keep you updated as we go.
Meanwhile, Christmas is coming fast.. we already have had the first frosts and a new Christmas channel has appeared on TV :-), so next week I will get cracking on our Christmas competition and see what we can manage. Your Jaguar could win itself a great Christmas present :-) All the info regarding what you can win, and how to enter will appear in the forum threads and our new event website towards the end of November.

I have been reminded that it would be great if any Jaguar orientated clubs or forums could be found at our event - it is something I have tried to progress before as you know, but without much success. As you know our event now runs under the name of JaguarForumsUK, and has done so unofficially for a while now - just officially noted this year.. and is not associated directly with any one club or forum. If you are associated with a Jaguar club or forum that our attendees would love to meet.. please get in touch. Every year we have the offer of free club plots for Jaguar clubs and forums to enable them to set up stands and meet our attendees - why not drop me a line and lets not just introduce attendees to companies that will help them look after their Jaguars, but also clubs and forums that will support them for the life of their Jag. You can drop a msg to me on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, email [email protected] or even (new) use the contact form at the events website at www.solidlinux.co.uk

OK guys, it's a Friday! This week has been a busy one with quite a bit going on regarding our event. I am still in the process of making contact with un-confirmed event sponsors, and am about to start planning for our great (FREE as always) Christmas competition. Additionally I am still mulling over a slight change in the layout of our event making everything more central for us with everything much more accessible on the day. More info on all this to come over time.. but I do genuinely believe we will have a bigger than ever, and more feature packed event than we have had ever before. Currently we are on schedule with things - here are the stats to-date: Our forum threads are getting busier and have now received almost 5000 hits Our event Facebook page has 261 friends Our event Twitter feed now has 558 followers Our Instagram account increased its following to 117 The number of confirmed event sponsors is now up to 10 Now that we are accepting trade stand plot requests we have had 5 so far Even the Presentation slots are now being booked and we have 3 already booked. We have 16 Jaguars and 32 attendees signed up so far with people signing up through the week. And we have just closed the deal on our attendee accomodation with guaranteed pricing, and availability of rooms, to guarantee anyone needing accomodation for our event can book it, no matter how busy the hotels etc are in the area at the time of our event. And one very last point, our event website ( www.solidlinux.co.uk ) is starting to gain traffic - it carries all the event history and images in one place making easier than ever to check our event out, look through our years of pictures, foruim threads, news, sponsor info and more. If you would like to sign up for our next free Jaguar event please pop a post or message on one of our forum threads, message via www.facebook.com/JaguarForumsUK, msg or tweet to @jfbrightonmeets #MayJagMeet, msg via Instagram JaguarForumsUK, email [email protected], or use the contact page at the event website - all you need to do is let us know the model and year of your Jaguar, your name or alias, and how many people will likely be attending and you will be signed up. It's free to sign up for, free to attend, and you get a great Jaguar day out with a convoy and main event, dealership support, awards, prizes, specialist help and support, show prices on must have items, trade stands, talks, great Jaguars, fantastic company and an incredible main venue at the largest wine estate in England, and it is all suitable for everyone from families to petrolheads. Our event only has two aims - to be free so anyone from any walk of life can not only attend but be equally welcome to a great Jaguar day out, and to put you in touch with companies and products of genuine and real interest to you helping you look after your Jaguar. Our awards go to Jaguars from every walk of life, you can also win some great prizes, and learn from specialists at the talks on the day - so go on why not give us a go? Your only costs will be accomodation if you need it (and we have a great deal for you on that), any food or drink on the day (we can usually obtain a discount on that at both our start point and main venue for you), and a nominal charge for the prize draw. That is it.. so go on why not guarantee yourself a place at our event and a great FREE Jaguar day out ?

OK guys, the weekend has been and gone and Monday is upon us however the good news is that everything is still very much progressing with our event - I am in contact with more potential sponsors, and our FridayAd advertisement is now in place & live to see if we can bring onboard more Jaguar owners that do not necessarily frequent social media or the forums - the advert is here: www.friday-ad.co.uk/dorking/whats-on/jaguarforumsuk-free-annual-convoy-meet-event-17092786/

Our event is becoming more accepted by Jaguar clubs and forums which is really good news for us - meaning you can not only get involved in talks by specialists, get show prices on must-have items for your Jaguar, win awards, have a great FREE Jaguar day out, & even enter a great prize draw on the day but also meet some incredible clubs and forums that specialise in Jaguars and supporting the owners throughout the life of their Jaguar.
We currently have one forum potentially sponsoring an award at our next event and another discussing the possibility of a club stand - if you run a Jaguar club or forum and would like to help our event put attendees in touch with support networks/services such as yourselves please, please get in touch - it would be great to have you onboard.
Club and Forum plots are free at our event and give attendees a great chance to meet the people who can support them, and their Jaguars, and also an opportunity for clubs and forums to introduce theirselves to our attendees.

Thankyou for your kind comments RedDiesel, I appreciate it.. this year I am hoping to manage a first for us, which is getting clubs & forums involved.
We currently have one forum looking into possibly sponsoring an award in their name, and a major player Jaguar club looking into attending with a stand - it would be great if we can gain their involvement as it would round off what our event offers really nicely :-)
I am still working my way round last years sponsors to try to encouage everyone to re-sign with us, and have also had a few enquiries from new companies who may be interested in us.
Additionally I have been doing the rounds of a number of other Jaguar clubs to see if I can raise some interest in the free club plots we are offering (pretty much everything our event offers is free and not just to the attendees :-))
It would be great if I can manage more trade stands, plus club/forum stands, with more talks etc for everyone to participate in, giving everyone a chance to not just learn from the pros, buy products/services at show prices but also make lasting connections with support groups too.
The new event website is slowly gaining traffic, our FridayAd advert is getting some viewings, and I am really hoping with their help we can attract 200 or so Jaguars for 2019, making this by far the largest event we have run so far..
And lastly don't forget it's just six weeks until we launch our Christmas competition - a chance for you to win a great Christmas present for your Jaguar delivered by Christmas day to ensure your Jaguar doesn't miss out on the fun :-)
