This is the second Case I have highlighted this week where People have been killed by Law Breaking Drivers and the Perpetrators handed paltry sentences . This particular case stinks to the high heavens with a Serving Thames Valley Police Sergeant taking time off to brief Lawyers on his Sons defence and a Prosecuting Police Force Thames Valley again failing in their duty to charge the Offender with the correct offences . This Lad a Drug User is clearly out of control , has no Respect for the Law or indeed his Parents and should be serving a lengthy sentence . Two good decent Men are Dead because of this Idiots actions are the Families of the Deceased irrelevant in all of this ?
When the population arm themselves with baseball bats etc, and begin to offer vigilante justice, the authorities will call it anarchy.
I accept some will accuse me of being naive Phil but wouldn't you expect a superior Officer to maybe have a word with this Sergeant and tell him that he risks bringing the whole Force into disrepute ? For many of us Thames Valley Police or indeed many other Forces such as South Yorkshire or even the Met dont warrant much respect , I have an old Retired Officer friend who incidentally shares our point of view but this is surely Bad Management ?
I actually hate to criticise the Police but decent People shouldn't be ignoring this sort of behaviour and its becoming more common by the week . Between them and the CPS for example they have totally fvcked the Prosecution of Rape Offences in this Country .
The decision not to pass the case to the CPS would have been taken by a senior cop, not his father, but perhaps at his behest. It stinks, from the little Tony Blair himself to the judge; “Judge Burgess said he would bail Coopey, explaining: 'Because he is so young, it is not a happy picture but there appears to have been something of a slowing down in the rate of offending.'” I have signed the petition to have the sentence reviewed. And I sincerely hope that two members of the judge’s family meet death at the hands of a junkie driver.👹👹👹
