I explained I have a 'low pad warning' on my 2015 XFR. Inspection of the front pads demonstrated about 8mm of wear left. The rears did look low however with probably only about 3mm left.
So, I contacted Jaguar Lincoln who informed me they no longer offered the Jaguar 3+ fixed price menu so the price would be higher than before. Not to worry said I, at least it is only the pads and not the disc, which are fine after just 19000 miles.
C2D3792 - Genuine Jaguar XFR rear pads for 380mm discs £102.96 + vat (I can get them with discount for £94.89 + vat).
So they're charging about £510 to replace in labour!
£510.......how very reasonable of them.
Utterly ridiculous. This Covid thing seems to have created a kind of madness. It's almost as though they (the dealers) are thinking....... we need to charge extra to make up for all the money we have lost during lockdown.
The 2 dealers I contacted have both stopped the 3+ fixed price servicing.
Quite a few of the dealers have dropped 3+; in response to:
"Good afternoon Antonia,
My wife's XF JR51XFR is due it's interim service / oil & filter change shortly. Please would you confirm that you still offer this at the Jaguar 3 + price of £225 inclusive, and let me know availability for service. I would wait while the service is carried out, so do not require a courtesy car.
"Unfortunately Toni is not in the office and we are unsure when she will be back in so apologies about no one getting back to you. In regards to the 3 + service, I am unable to see that Jaguar UK are offering this anymore as I looked at this the other day for another customer. Without Jaguar doing this offer we are unable to honour this as these are quite big discounts on services and we would normally get a rebate back from Jaguar as we have to send them invoice with a 3 + code on it."
Two days later, his junior colleague got back to me:
"Just replying to your email that you sent Antonia on the 1st May. Yes we do still offer the 3+ service option. This cost is still £225 inclusive. We offer waiting appointments at 8am or 2pm each day. We are currently booking from the 14th May onwards. Would the 14th or 15th be okay for you?"
At least they seem to know what they're doing in the workshops.
